Using 20,000 workers between 1631 and 1653, the most famous Moghul Emperor, Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in honor of his late wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1629 bearing their 15th child. Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan, to this day, remain in this magnificent mausoleum.
